It seems that it is more feasible to live in another moon of our solar system than living in another planet. There are many advantages for this: similar gravity to ours and the high probability of having water. But this may also come with its surprises: other living organisms may have arrived first.

Eugene Shoemaker was the founder of a new branch of geology called astrogeology. Shoemaker produced conclusive evidence that planet Earth had been bombarded by asteroids throughout its  evolutionary history. He became interested in the question of whether the craters on the Moon were volcanic or caused by impacts of asteroids and comets. Upon a visit to the Meteor Crater, Arizona, in 1952, he became totally convinced that this huge crater and and the lunar craters had been similarly formed by meterite impact craters.

There are many ways of generating random numbers. Some of them generate pseudo-random numbers, that is, the numbers will repeat again after some interval. But this is not true randomness. To accomplish better random sequences, the time-variable is inserted in the generation algorithms. This video explains how the time variable is used to compute the random numbers.

It's truly hard to visualize an object from the fourth-dimension because we belong to a 3D-world. Many attempts have been made to depict what is possibly one of simplest of them all: the cube. This video shows a rotating hypercube in what may constitute our ordinary 3D-cube, but this time, the cube is 4D-cube rotating in space.

Comets and meteorites are common in our solar system. They wander everywhere. Our planet has been hit by many of them throughout our history. But, in our modern times an event such as this can be a catastrophe of huge dimensions. Scientists aren't sure about a meteorite hitting our planet, they only know that somewhere, sometime, something will happen.

Cantor was convinced that God called him to discover and write the elusive field of the infinite in mathematics. Before Cantor, the concept of infinity was a simple one; the Aristotelian concept was the predominant school. But Cantor broke the chains of this simplistic reasoning. However, was God truly at his side, even when he died in a sanatorium?

Scientists and astronomers from all over the world are engaged in a common quest: are there in the deep space other civilizations like ours? Despite the several types of antennas and detection devices in use, not a single signal has been received that could be used as definitive proof that out-there are other civilizations also searching for us, so where are the so-called aliens?
