Infinite weird schemas for Pi. The famous constant Pi = 3.11416... can be computed using some mesmerizing formulas to the point that they can become hypnotic. Geometry is full of surprises. Specially the circle, with its circumference-to-diameter ratio that gives rise to the ubiquitous number Pi. For most of our daily computations, we suffice with the rounded value of 3.1416. But this is very very small shorthand for a number that has been proved that is infinite in its decimal expansion.
No matter how familiar it seems, Pi is a strange and somewhat alien number.
The following infographic shows what seems an out-of-this-world numerical representation of such an omnipresent number. Since Pi is infinite, then every formula we use to express its value must also be infinite.
However, as the infographic shows, Pi can also be a mirror for us to admire how beautiful and pleasant the infinite is.
